Terms & conditions
1. Agreement
By purchasing or enrolling in a cohort offering through our website and checkout, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not complete checkout.
2. Service
Unhinged Design provides a live, small-group cohort program (the “Program”) focused on UX practice, product collaboration, communication skills, and real-world design decision-making.
What is included in your specific cohort (such as live sessions, guest speaker sessions, portfolio and resume feedback, templates, materials, and other supporting resources) is described on the marketing page for the cohort you purchase.
Guest speakers are planned as part of the Program experience; however, speaker availability may change due to scheduling or unforeseen circumstances. Guest speakers are subject to change and substitutions may be made without affecting the overall value or nature of the Program.
We may make reasonable updates to logistics, scheduling, tools, or delivery methods where necessary to operate the Program successfully, provided the overall nature of what was purchased does not materially change.
3. Eligibility
The Program is intended for adults aged 18 and older.
By enrolling, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, meet any additional eligibility requirements stated on our website, and are able to participate in the scheduled live sessions for your selected cohort.
4. Price and payment
Pricing is shown at checkout in the listed currency.
Payment is processed securely by Stripe, our payment processor. By completing checkout, you authorize Stripe to charge your selected payment method for the full amount shown, including any applicable taxes or fees calculated at checkout.
Promotional codes (including discount codes or early-access offers) are subject to Stripe’s rules and any limits we set, including expiration dates, redemption limits, and eligibility restrictions.
Enrollment is confirmed only after successful payment is completed.
5. Refunds and cancellations
Because each cohort is intentionally small and capacity is limited, enrollment is commitment-based and refunds are time-sensitive.
Full refund
You may request a full refund if you cancel on or before May 6, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET, before registration closes for your enrolled cohort.
After May 6, before the cohort begins
After the refund deadline and before the first live session, refunds are not available.
Depending on timing and seat availability, we may allow a one-time transfer to a future cohort at our sole discretion.
Transfers are not guaranteed and must be requested before the first live session begins.
Approved transfers apply only to the same purchaser and may not be resold, reassigned, or transferred to another person.
If future cohort pricing increases, we reserve the right to require payment of the price difference before confirming the transfer.
After the cohort begins
Once the first live session has started, refunds and transfers are generally not available except where required by law.
This is because cohort planning, reserved capacity, guest scheduling, and access to materials begin before and at launch.
Attendance and missed sessions
Enrollment reserves your place in a limited-capacity cohort and is not based on session-by-session attendance.
Missed live sessions, scheduling conflicts, or partial participation do not qualify for refunds or partial credits.
Please ensure the cohort schedule works for you before enrolling.
Transfers to a future cohort may be considered only in exceptional circumstances and at our sole discretion.
How to request a refund or transfer
To request a refund or transfer, email hello@unhinged-design.com from the same email used at checkout and include your full name and approximate purchase date.
Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method through Stripe where possible.
6. Founding Cohort Box and shipping
If your purchase includes a physical welcome package (the “Founding Cohort Box”):
- Physical shipments are available only to mailing addresses in the United States and Canada unless otherwise stated.
- Shipping details are collected securely during checkout through Stripe so we can fulfill delivery. Please ensure your shipping address is accurate and complete at the time of purchase.
- We are not responsible for delays, failed deliveries, or returned shipments caused by incorrect addresses, incomplete delivery information, or unclaimed packages.
- Program participation may be available internationally even if physical shipments are limited to U.S. and Canada addresses.
7. International participants
International cards and payment methods supported by Stripe may be accepted where available.
If you enroll from outside the United States or Canada, you are responsible for confirming that the live session schedule works for your time zone.
If physical shipping is limited to U.S. and Canada, you may need to provide a valid shipping address within those regions to receive the Founding Cohort Box, or participate without physical delivery where applicable.
Employer-sponsored and international enrollment questions may be handled separately through direct invoicing.
8. Email and account communications
We may use your email address for transactional communication related to your purchase, including:
- payment confirmations and receipts
- cohort access instructions
- schedule updates
- onboarding details
- support and program communication
Purchasing the Program does not automatically subscribe you to general marketing emails unless you separately opt in through our waitlist, newsletter, or other marketing forms.
9. Data and privacy
Checkout collects information needed to process payment and, where applicable, fulfill physical shipments, including your name, email address, billing address, and shipping address.
This information is processed securely by Stripe under their terms and privacy policy. We receive only the information necessary to operate the Program, provide support, and fulfill enrollment.
For information collected outside checkout (such as waitlist forms or email signups), please refer to our Privacy Policy.
10. Conduct
Respectful participation is required.
We reserve the right to remove a participant without refund for harassment, abuse, discrimination, repeated disruption, or behavior that creates an unsafe or harmful environment for the cohort, where permitted by law.
11. Intellectual property
All materials, templates, resources, recordings, and content provided through the Program are for your personal educational use only unless otherwise stated.
You may not reproduce, redistribute, resell, publish, or share private cohort materials or recordings without written permission.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms & Conditions for future purchases.
The version in effect at the time of your checkout applies to your purchase.
13. Disclaimer
The Program provides educational guidance, coaching, and professional development support.
It does not constitute therapy, legal advice, financial advice, immigration advice, or guaranteed employment outcomes.
Participation in the Program does not guarantee job placement, promotion, interviews, offers, freelance work, client acquisition, salary increases, or any specific career results.
We do not make promises regarding employment, hiring outcomes, portfolio success, recruiter responses, or professional advancement. Individual results depend on your experience, effort, market conditions, and many factors outside our control.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to your purchase, enrollment, or participation in the Program is limited to the total amount you paid us for that cohort.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including lost income, lost opportunities, or business interruption.
15. Governing law
These Terms & Conditions and any dispute related to your purchase or participation in the Program are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict of law principles.
